Kandace has been a friend since we were both really little.  Our moms were great friends so we naturally became friends as well.  We even told people we were sisters!  Like sisters do, sometimes we would disagree and it would be so dramatic because you know, when you’re 10 everything is a big deal and one mistake makes you never want to be friends again.  ..  until the next weekend when they invite you over to play.  Then you’re best friends like nothing ever happened.  Thankfully we grew up and got out of that dramatic phase.

Now we’re both mature adults (sometimes) who can handle a stable friendship with each other.  She has actually become one of my go-to friends when it comes to my photography.  She models for me when I want to try new crazy things.  Now, she’s gotten herself engaged!
Of course when I found out I told her she has to let me do her engagement session.  So we finally worked out a date in our crazy schedules and I went down to Jacksonville, Florida to meet up with them.

This was my first time meeting Mitchell.  To be honest, my first impression was “dang! he’s tall!” and that’s saying something because Kandace is tall too.  I felt so small walking around with them.  They were so cute together though.  You could tell their personalities fit so well.

We took some photos at Flagler College and in the surrounding areas. As the evening went on, it seemed like it only got hotter and hotter. We were doing our best to keep cool. Then when we went to get in the car, the battery had died. We never found out why. No lights were left on or anything. It just died. So we had to wave someone down to come jump us off. We finally got going thanks to some good Samaritan who wasn’t too busy to help us.

We had one more spot we wanted to get some photos at and it was beautiful. The trees were hanging over the road and made a gorgeous backdrop. Since we were close to the Fountain of Youth, a peacock decided to grace us with its presence. He didn’t show off his colors for us, but it was pretty nonetheless.

Jacksonville and St. Augustine are mesmerizing places but Thomasville is home for Kandace so stay tuned for a part two session back in her home town.
